Subject: BiggerBetterFasterMore Words

Hmmmmmm, Well, as I've said before, sometimes it's very tough to think of anything funny to say. But I think this may be the first time that I'll be completely serious. Obviously, we're all experiencing the same sort of horror and disbelief and it feels weird and almost disrespectful to go on about your daily business in the shadow of what has happened. I, for one, am still wondering how I'm gonna psyche myself up to hoot and holler about the "power of real rock n roll" and how you need to make "some real f*#kin' noise."

It seems like everything has changed and there's no place in this new world for that kind of frivolity. But when you think about (and I have been, believe me), it's very important that we carry on with our day to day lives and not just "go through the motions," but do the things we do with passion and vigor. If you're gonna holler, do it till your throat is raw. If you're gonna dance, do it till you legs ache. If you're gonna love, do it with all of your heart and soul. But watch that hate!

What was the objective of this terrorist bullshit, beyond destroying specific targets and killing Americans? It was to bring the U.S. to a grinding halt. To forever change the American way of life. It seems to me that while they were successful with their first set of objectives, we have the power to thwart these animals by showing them that our lives in this country will go on (and take a minute to thank your respective gods that our lives can go on, thousands were not so lucky). The best way we can accomplish this is to get back on that horse, so to speak. Work, play, live, love, laugh and remember, always remember!

I am not what most people would call a flag waiving type of patriot. Crooked politicians and the power of big business money over our law makers had made me a cynical man, but make no mistake, with all of its' flaws, our American system is still head, shoulders, knees and toes above the rest. Sure, it could be better, but it could also be immeasurably worse. I love the American way of life. It allows me to live the way that I want, without fear or repression. I AM AS FREE AS A MAN CAN BE AND I DON'T INTEND TO LET ANYONE TAKE THAT AWAY!

These are times that we need to help each other and the best way that BiggerBetterFasterMore can help, is to take your mind off of life's sharp and pointy bits and help you blow off some steam and have fun (and we all have a lot of steam in us right now, no?).

This weekend, we will be doing a private party, so we won't be able to see you. We will be back out next week at the CHESAPEAKE BAY BEACH CLUB in Stevensville, Md on Friday the 21st and at the TRED AVON YACHT CLUB in Cambridge, Md on Saturday the 22nd. We really hope to see you there. It's nice to be with friends when things suck and we truly value your friendship and support of this band.

We were just booked this week to play at the BALTIMORE RAVEN'S BACKYARD BASH at Raven's Stadium on Monday, Sept. 17th, but that game has been postponed. We'll let you know when that date is rescheduled. But you should check this event out before and after each Raven's home game in the big, white tent outside of gate D. Many of this town's finest bands are being featured along with some yummy food and booze.

Don't forget to stop what you're doing tonight (Friday) at 7pm and light a candle (even if you don't have a candle handy just sit in quite contemplation) in remembrance and as a show of solidarity. You think the perps of this crap aren't watching everything we do on CNN and C-SPAN? Think again. This is a classy and powerful way to send a message back to them and to each other.

In a way it kind of reminds me of the scene at the end of "How the Grich Stole Christmas" where the Who's come out and sings songs of joy even thought the Grinch has taken away their Christmas presents and, in his mind, totally brought them to their knees. It was a very powerful scene if you think about it (and I talking about in the original book and cartoon, not the awful hollywood movie), he was unable to break their true spirit. Dr. Suess was a genius of epic proportions, but I digress.......

As we prepare to seek retribution from the vomitous creatures responsible, please keep in mind that it is of the utmost importance that we NEVER sink to their level. WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT! Although it's difficult to remember, not everyone who looks like the high jackers is your enemy. Think for a moment how it must feel to be an Arab American in this country right now. We need to be cautious but also practical.

Finally, to anyone on our list directly affected by these events, our deepest sympathies go out to you and your people. Feel free to post some messages on our message board at www.BiggerBetterFasterMore.net. We'd like to hear what you think. Be strong, my friends.

The Eagle Does Not Hunt Flies,
Tom
Mike
Jody
David

PS Only Tom wrote this, so the other guys in the band might not share all of my opinions, but I think they do. If not, I apologize.
